So are we talking about “Ash vs Evil Dead” going “The Walking Dead” or “Game of Thrones” route where anyone could go at any time?

Evil Dead will always be Evil Dead. Hey man, you go to a cabin with some friends and you read a book thirty years ago, you think people are just going to escape that for the next thirty years? No. Everyone who gets close to Ash Williams dies. We know this. It’s just a rule. There was a big death with Amanda (Jill Marie Jones) last year and now, who knows what’s going to happen in Season 2? That’s all I gotta say.

When Samara Weaving entered the picture and did a little flirting with Pablo toward the end of Season 1, Kelly (as you put it) got a little jelly. Talk a bit about that on-screen relationship and can we expect for it to grow over the next ten episodes?

You just finished up Comic Con in San Diego. Talk a bit about ຄົນຊົ່ວຮ້າຍ fans

The whole reason the show exists is as a bloody love letter to the fans. Anytime I meet fans or have the opportunity to talk to them I thank them for giving me a job because they are the reason that the show was made. I have never in my life seen a fan base like this one. One that has spanned decades and remains so passionate and excited and loyal to the evolution of the franchise. I’m just so grateful that they accepted Pablo and Kelly. I think the writers did a great job of making that seamless, but they have been so kind to Ray and I and we’re just enjoying the ride.

I’m enamored with the fans, that’s all I have to say. And I had my first Kelly cosplay at Comic Con and I think I got more excited than she did (laughs). I was told that I jumped over the table because I wanted a picture with her, and I think she was a little taken aback like “Aren’t I supposed to be excited and you’re supposed to be cool?” No, no. I was such a nerd, I was like (screeching) “Oh my God, you have the anchor necklace and everything!” I sent (the picture) to my family, I’m showing it to my parents “Look, someone dressed up as Kelly!” I honestly was just so excited because it’s such a cool feeling.

The fan base makes us feel like rock stars, so I will continue to be dumped with cement trucks full of blood if that’s what it takes. Bring it on. Cover me in viscera for the next ten years because I will do it for these fans ’cause they are that awesome.

You’ve stated numerous times that you grew up wanting to be an actor, and now find yourself involved with a tremendously successful show with an insanely devoted fan base. Give us that first moment where you realized you weren’t in Kansas anymore, that “Ash vs Evil Dead” had changed your life.

Absolutely. It all happened very quickly for me. I only auditioned three times (for the part of Kelly). I’ve auditioned twenty times for a two-line part on other shows, so this happened very, very quickly. All of a sudden I’m in New Zealand and we’re shooting the final scene of Episode 1 (Season 1) where Bruce is in front of Ray and I. We’re flanked on either side after he just killed the Deadite Mrs. Johnson, I look and see Sam Raimi behind the camera yelling action and all of the crew staring back at us watching this final moment of the episode, and I just got chills all the way up and down my spine. I just looked over at Ray and he looked over at me and we had this moment where, without even saying a word, we knew exactly what each other were feeling. It was that moment when I was looking at Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi and all of these people that it really hit me, “Wow! I get to be a part of this.” It was almost bigger than anything I thought I’d get to actually experience. It was like an acting nirvana moment and I’ll never forget it as long as I live. Even talking about it I get a little tight-chested, I’m grabbing my chest (laughs) remembering that moment. That’s when it really hit me, “Wow, I get to do this. I get to be a part of this very special, very beloved franchise. How lucky am I?”

Alright, last season Ray Santiago told us that at some point Pablo would endure something no man should ever have to go through, and after the scene in the cabin basement, it all made sense. About a month ago, Ted Raimi said there would be a surprising and great revelation with his character Chet. Which brings us to you. I know you can’t give away anything specific, but that doesn’t mean you can’t drop some cryptic, torturous goodness to get the wheels of AvED fans everywhere spinning. What can you tell us about Season 2 that won’t result in a team of Starz suits knocking on your front door?

My mother always taught me to think twice, talk once, so I’m finding a way to say what I want to say.

We all know Ash Williams makes mistakes. In fact, he makes a lot of them. There will be a mistake — in general, I’m not going to say who made it — that cannot be undone. Actually, I shouldn’t say a mistake because it’s not really a mistake. There will be an “action” that cannot be undone.
